Team Carolina Mission Statement
The mission of Team Carolina is "to provide a competitive hockey environment where young athletes are developed as individuals and players by emphasizing the core values of USA Hockey: Sportsmanship, Respect, Integrity, Teamwork, Enjoyment, Loyalty and the Pursuit of Excellence."
Being regionally based, the Team Carolina program provides top players from a wider geographical area the chance to participate in a highly competitive and comprehensive development environment. Weekend team practices follow a development model where players will have a minimum 3-4.5 hours of full ice practice, off ice training, video sessions, team building and more. Using the weekend model, players are more able to focus on their hockey training without worrying about getting homework done, studying for a tests, late practices, etc. on a school night. We conduct a single weekday skill development practice in multiple markets (once teams are picked, locations are determined based on where players reside). From a pure development perspective, putting the best players together creates a more intense and competitive environment and the weekend model provides a stronger environment for team bonding and cohesiveness.

Team Carolina is a regional girls hockey team that was developed to provide opportunities to girls in the Carolinas and neighboring area to play hockey on an all-girls team. As a regional team we will have weekly skill sessions in the Charlotte and Greensboro markets as well as weekend team practices throughout the region.
We are excited to announce that for the 2017-2018 season we have 12/14U and 14/16U Travel Teams competing in the Carolinas Hockey League and select Tournaments. We are very excited to offer an independent 14U roster as well. We will begin organizing a 10U tournament team early this fall, with plans to participate in 2 all-girls tournaments.
Our focus is on growing girls/women’s hockey in the North and South Carolina region. Goals include:

The past few days have been overwhelming for everyone and we would like to apologize and update you on where things stand and where Team Carolina is headed. First and foremost, Ralph and I would like to thank everyone that has been involved with the program over the past 18 years including the coaches, team managers, players and parents as your dedication, excitement and enthusiasm is what has kept the program going all these years.
As announced earlier this week, Jocelyn Langlois and Ryan Cruthers have stepped down from their board positions as we could not come to terms on the direction of the program. That being said, we recognize and appreciate the tremendous value and commitment that both Jocelyn and Ryan bring to hockey in the Carolina’s and intend to support and work closely with them providing our Team Carolina players access to two (2) of the top junior hockey programs in the Southeast.
Now the hard part as Team Carolina has been part of our lives and families for 18 years. We both feel it is time for us to step aside and bring new energy and excitement to the program as it moves forward into the future. We are pleased to announce that Steve McKirdy and Jason Dawe have been added to the board of directors and will take over day to day operations effective immediately. Ralph and I will remain on the board in an advisory capacity through the end of August.
Both Jason and Steve bring a wealth of experience and passion to take Team Carolina to the next level. They have been actively involved with the program and their focus will be to ensure that skilled hockey players are provided opportunities to gain exposure and experience by competing at the elite level across the United States and Canada. Steve and Jason are hard at work finalize their administrative team and expect to have a full program outline sent to everyone by noon on Friday.
We want to thank Jocelyn Langlois, Ryan Cruthers, Steve McKirdy, Jason Dawe, Derek Wilkinson and Tom Logano for their support and assistance in providing the best Tier I/AAA program for the players in the Carolina’s.
